Valeria Sumonte Rojas is a Doctor in Education, Master in Linguistics, and teacher of English. She works at the Catholic University of Maule, Chile. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in English and intercultural education. Her research areas are interculturality, second language teaching and learning, and she is starting to explore the pedagogies for inclusion. She publishes and has projects in her research areas. She is the principal researcher of: Fondecyt de Iniciación N°11190448, Proyecto Fomento a la Vinculación Internacional-FOVI240012 and Fondecyt Regular N°1250784. All these projects are funded by the Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo-ANID, Chile. She is also part of an international research project entitled: IA no Ensino Superior: implicações para a geopolítica da produção de conhecimentos e diversidade de línguas do e no Sul Global y es para la llamada 13/2025 de Fapes Universal. Funded: Fapes 13/2025. The project will be developed in 2 years (nov. 2025 a octubre 2027).

Dra. Lidia Andrea Fuentealba, UCM, lfuentealba@ucm.cl

Lidia Andrea Fuentealba is a Doctor in Education, Master in TESOL, and teacher of English. She worked as an EFL teacher in the public and private educational system of Chile, teaching students from PK to adults (2003-2007).  Then, she taught Spanish as a foreign language to middle school students in Columbia, South Carolina (USA) for four years (2007-2011). Currently, she works at the Catholic University of Maule, Chile. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the fields of English teaching and initial teacher education. Her research interests are initial teacher training, teaching/learning to Young learners, and interculturality. She publishes academic articles and teacher manuals for pre-service teachers. She is the principal researcher of the project “Creative literature in the Classroom for teaching EFL to Young Learners” funded by UCM-IN-24207, and Co-researcher of Proyecto Fomento a la Vinculación Internacional-FOVI240012 and Fondecyt Regular N°1250784. The last two projects are funded by the Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo-ANID, Chile.

Dra. Gloria Toledo Vega, UC, gtoledo@uc.cl

Gloria Toledo Vega is Associated professor at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She is PhD in Philology from Valladolid University, Spain (2012). From 2000 to date she has been teaching Spanish as additional language, and teaching and doing research on second language (SL) acquisition, SL development and SL teaching. Her search areas are Pragmatics, Immigration Linguistics and Educational Linguistics. Her investigation has been founded by ANID since 2013.

Claudio Díaz Larenas is a professor at Universidad de Concepción. PhD in Education, Master of Arts in Linguistics and Bachelor of Arts in English Teaching.
